Adamikné Jászó, Anna: The Diary of an Exile. Jókai Mór's second volume of short stories in 1850 (abstract) The Diary of an Exile is artistic series of short stories, describing a sorrowful, but variegated picture about the situation after the defeat of war of independence in 1848–49; its argumentation and style are also variegated. The structure of the series of short stories is defined by the logic of enthymeme, the introduction is the starting point of argumentation, the short stories detail the assertion of introduction. This solution is characteristic in the later works of Jókai. Another import-ant tool of his argumntation is the example, i. e. the parable. His style is characterized by the rich abundance of figures. Jókai's art can be put into a new perspective by the rhetorical knowledge and rhetorical analysis.
